Youth Code of Conduct

Version 2026.1 Effective April 20, 2026

Summary. Shared expectations that keep the Hub safe and welcoming for every youth and staff member. Every family signs this at registration.

Core expectations

Treat every person at the Hub (youth, staff, volunteers, and guests) with dignity. Harassment, bullying, slurs, threats, or physical violence are never acceptable and result in immediate action. Respect Hub property and the property of others.

Restorative discipline

The Hub uses progressive, restorative discipline. A first minor issue is usually addressed with a conversation and restoration. Repeat or more serious issues may lead to a timed exclusion, a suspension, or revocation of membership, per our published schedule. Families are contacted for anything beyond a verbal reminder.

Schedule

LevelTypical response
Minor disruptionRedirection and restorative conversation with staff
Repeated minorTimed exclusion from the specific activity or area
Serious or repeated conductHub suspension of 1 to 7 days with family meeting
Severe conduct (violence, weapon, theft)Immediate suspension, family meeting, possible law-enforcement referral
Repeated severe conductMembership revocation with documented review

Weapons, alcohol, drugs, and tobacco

Weapons, alcohol, illegal drugs, cannabis, vape or tobacco products, and drug paraphernalia are strictly prohibited on Hub property. Being under the influence while at the Hub is prohibited. Violations result in immediate suspension and may be reported to law enforcement.

Photos and privacy

Youth may not photograph or record another youth without their consent. Photos taken by staff or during Hub programs follow the Media Release preferences on each youth's profile.

Devices and digital conduct

Use of Hub computers, tablets, and Wi-Fi is governed by the Technology Use Policy. On personal devices, the same respect rules apply: do not harass, doxx, or spread rumors about other youth, staff, or community members.

Mandatory reporting

Hub staff are mandated reporters under Wyoming law. If a youth discloses abuse, neglect, self-harm, or immediate danger to themselves or others, staff are legally required to report to the appropriate authorities.

Anonymous tips

Any youth or family member can submit an anonymous tip through the app, kiosk, or website. Tips are reviewed by the Executive Director and a designated Safety Lead. We use tips to keep youth safe and we respect the privacy of the person who submits the tip.

How we communicate decisions

Discipline decisions are documented in the youth's record with the date, the level, the staff who decided, and the reasoning. Families are notified and may request a review. Our goal is always restoration of relationship and return to the Hub, except in the most severe cases.
